The Most Basic Pawn Endgame Is Harder Than You Think

Great blog post. This stuff is so mandatory for every chess player.
It's amazing how the king, as the simplest piece of all, has this hidden skillcap in the King vs King game, and chess in general.

Pawn endings are covered in all endgame books. One that I thought did a nice job on working gradually towards more advanced endings was THE FINAL COUNTDOWN. This may be hard to find. Another good book that may be easier is Seirawan's WINNING CHESS ENDINGS.

it is and i always find it easy but people always struggle sometimes other than me
maybe it really is hard
but i memorised al of this and will answer even in my sleep
i have seen all sorts of titled players teaching this too (you are one of them)
i always thought it was easy.
but as the fundemental it is important

I think this post was very nicely written, and the topic was presented in a very understandable way. Thank you very much!

A lot of players (especially beginners) are good at the opening but play bad in the middlegame or/and endgame and a lot of studies are about the opening or/and unstructured but this blog and study teachers about the endgame and it's structured, so in my opinion I think that this blog and study is very useful.

I absolutely agree with it.

I absolutely agree with it but instead of memorizing it you should try to understand it because it will also improve other aspects of your endgame.

I do not agree with that idea because relearning it can help us to understand it better and to be able to use it in other aspects of the endgame.
